Interim General Counsel/Head of Legal or first GC

If you are a growing company with no in-house lawyers (or only junior legal resource) or you are looking to recruit your first General Counsel or you have a resource gap – whatever the reason – then our Interim GC or First GC service can help.

Clients have the same benefits of using our in-house / project support service in terms of value and offering, but our Interim/ First GC service is only provided by consultants who have held Head of Legal/ General Counsel positions either as sole counsel or heading up teams in large organisations.

An example of the type of support you can expect from your Interim GC is:

(i) setting up a new legal team /implementing the precedents and processes needed for the legal team to thrive
(ii) to “hold the fort” while a replacement full time position can be filled – and help with that process
(iii) to cover BAU legal work
(iv) to liaise with/ present to the Board or Exec as required
(v) to assess and mitigate legal risk.

The Interim or First GC would usually be available for a set number of days per week or month for an agreed time period to make sure you have support for as long as you need.
